Recommended placement
The front entrance.
I recommend the front entrance of Jefferson House, where the portrait would identify the residence and greet arriving guests.

Advantages and considerations
From the project briefing of 11 August 2026.
Setting
The portrait continues the sculptural tradition of marking an important threshold with a commemorative figure, and would read clearly against the existing hedge.
Considerations
- Visible primarily to arriving and departing guests, rather than from the house, patio or rear garden.
Positioning and site work
| Positioning | In the planted bed shown above. Confirm the precise position on site with George Petrides before excavation; see installation arrangements for fitting and orientation. |
|---|---|
| Landscape | Remove one existing planting and trim the hedge in front of and around the base. Retain the existing double row of privacy hedges. Set a low planted bed around the base, with final planting by the Embassy. |
| Lighting | Use existing lighting supports near the gate, subject to facilities review and quotation. |
| Irrigation | No relocation is expected based on the June–July 2026 site study; the Embassy’s contractor should confirm this on site. |
See the dimensions and drawing and the installation animation for the base and installation method.
